LOKAL Privacy Policy
Effective August 1, 2026LOKAL is an interactive classroom platform designed to operate locally and, when a teacher chooses, connect to a hosted LOKAL account.
Information we process
Teacher account information may include a display name, username, email address, profile image, organization, profession, registered devices, classes, activities, responses, and reports. Student classroom information may include a chosen display name and classroom responses.
Google Sign-In
When a teacher uses Google Sign-In, LOKAL receives the Google account’s stable identifier, verified email address, display name, and profile image. LOKAL does not receive or store the Google password and does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or calendars.
Offline and hosted data
Offline classroom data remains on the classroom computer unless its teacher securely enrolls that installation with the hosted service. Enrolled installations use a revocable device credential. Internet loss does not prevent local classroom use.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate teachers, run classroom activities, synchronize data selected for hosted use, provide reports, protect accounts, diagnose service problems, and improve reliability.
Sharing and retention
LOKAL does not sell personal information. Information is disclosed only to service providers needed to operate the platform, when directed by the account owner, or when legally required. Records are retained while needed for the classroom service, security, backups, and applicable legal obligations.
Security and choices
Teachers can sign out registered devices, revoke enrolled classroom computers, disconnect Google when another login method is available, and request account or data deletion. Network transport to the hosted service uses HTTPS.
Children and educational use
Schools and teachers are responsible for using LOKAL consistently with their educational policies, parental-consent requirements, and applicable privacy law. Students should use only the information their teacher instructs them to provide.
