LOKAL Terms of Service

Effective August 1, 2026

These terms govern access to the LOKAL classroom platform. By creating or using an account, you agree to use LOKAL responsibly and consistently with your institution’s policies and applicable law.

Accounts

You are responsible for activity under your teacher account and for protecting your login methods and enrolled devices. Notify the project administrators if you believe an account or classroom computer has been compromised.

Acceptable use

Do not use LOKAL to harm others, gain unauthorized access, distribute malicious material, interfere with the service, violate intellectual-property rights, or process information unlawfully.

Educational content and student information

Teachers and institutions determine the classroom content and student information entered into LOKAL. They are responsible for obtaining required permissions and choosing age-appropriate and lawful classroom practices.

Offline operation and synchronization

LOKAL can operate locally without Internet access. Hosted synchronization depends on connectivity and configuration and is not a substitute for institutionally required backups or records-management procedures.

Availability

LOKAL is provided as an educational project and may change as it is developed. No service can be guaranteed uninterrupted or error-free. Reasonable efforts will be made to protect data and restore service.

Termination

Access may be suspended for security threats, abuse, legal requirements, or material violation of these terms. Teachers may stop using the hosted service and disconnect enrolled devices.

Changes

Material changes to these terms will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
